Good to know
To make your stay as pleasant as possible, here are some useful tips and guidelines.
Arrival & Stay
Winter accessibility: Are you renting a car in winter? We strongly recommend a four-wheel drive, as the house is located on a mountain, and snow can make roads challenging.
Parking: You can park both above and below the house. During snowfall, we recommend parking above for easier access.
Footwear: According to Norwegian tradition, please remove your outdoor shoes indoors. We recommend bringing slippers or warm socks for extra comfort.
Heating: The electric heaters in the bedrooms can be set to 12-15°C for a comfortable sleep. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and toilet is best set at 20-24°C.
Waste separation: In Norway, waste is sorted. Glass, paper, plastic, and organic waste should be separated. Before departure, please dispose of your waste in the designated bins in the village.
Supermarket: The Joker supermarket in Vrådal is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00. It is closed on Sundays.
Firewood: Firewood is included and is stored outside under the shelter.
Departure
To ensure the home is ready for the next guests, we kindly ask you to:
- Leave the house tidy and broom clean.
- Gather all bed linen and towels in a central spot in the hallway.
- Clean and empty household appliances, including the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, and oven.
- Return dishes to the cabinets and put any moved furniture back in its original place.
- Empty the fireplace (a vacuum for ash is available).
- Empty all trash bins and bring your waste to the designated containers in the village.
- Lock the house properly before leaving.
